Some of my favorite memories growing up involved playing out in the woods, along the creek and looking for frogs. I would collect a few tadpoles each year and put them in jars with water and rocks. I took care of them and enjoyed watching them develop into frogs. Once they were ready, I would release them back into their natural habitat. I have an appreciation for the outdoors and the habitats supporting some of the wonderful creatures I have grown to love over the years.
One of our summer family traditions has also included catching the large bullfrogs that live in a pond in Lacomb, OR to help teach the kids about these wonderful animals. The kids work hard to find the biggest ones and then set them down and let them race back to the pond. A great lesson for the kids to see that the biggest does not always mean the fastest! (No animals harmed during this process.) This activity combines the love of nature and the special creatures around us, educational opportunity with the kids and just pure fun! My childhood memories and these experiences with my own children inspired the choice of our company name.
